A crow stood atop the tall wooden post on the seafront, black silhouette against the dawn sky, when B and I went for a sunrise swim. Low tide. The light was soft, the sea a pale pink, the sky a baby blue pommelé with gold. But the camera captured an ominous purple sky and a fire-red sea.
