I have been thinking about what it means to tell the truth, to write the truest sentence – what feels true right now?

I am trying to focus on depicting just what I see. What’s there. The truth of it. It’s that notion of honesty, and the revelation of beauty that can be found when we really and truly tap into telling the truth. Writing it how it really is, or was.

I saw the sea breathe – a wave gathering momentum, reeling back and rising up and up until it collapsed in a crash of frothy water. A pause then, as it silently draped itself over the beach in creamy, ever shifting blooms, before pulling back with a ssshh over the pebbles. Stranach is the Irish word for the soothing sound of water retreating over a stony strand.

To write what's true, I fall back on my senses. With breath and body, I reconnect with the living world.
