Hi, I’m Annette. Welcome to Another World is Possible!

I’m a mother of four, French-born and Irish-based.
I’m a writer, a wild swimmer, a reformed climate activist.
I write about sea swimming year round in cold Irish waters.
I write about nature, feminism, eco-activism.

I write to find a way through the chaotic times we live in and to dare imagine a future more beautiful.

I write to change the story of who we are on this achingly beautiful planet, our only home.

This is the space where I share my musings and moments. And it means the world to have you along for the ride.

When you subscribe, each new edition of Another World is Possible goes directly to your inbox – I don’t keep anything behind a paywall, but there is a paid option if you’d like to support my work. You can also “like” my posts by tapping the heart icon, share them on Substack Notes or other social media, and/or send them to a friend.

As a free subscriber, you will receive my monthly newsletter One Month A Swim, as well as sporadic posts on writing, essays and shorter pieces, including the odd poem. The paywall goes up on each post after six months. Upgrading your subscription gives you access to the full archive.

I promise not to spam you with loads of mail, and I will never, ever pass on your information to anyone else.

About me

A (reformed) nature and climate activist with a passion for trees and wild swimming, I live by the Irish Sea in Greystones, Co Wicklow, Ireland, with my Irish husband and our four bilingual kids.

For six years, I blogged in words and photos, and in two languages, at FourAcorns.ie.

I am now working on my first book – a memoir on the transformational power of wild swimming.
